This is the first posthumous studio album from Hendrix and definitely the one that is the closest to what Jimi would have liked to be. There aren't such overdubbing as during later efforts to revive the memory of this great musician (like Douglas or even his sister will do later on)/5(3).

Cry of Love as an album has been rendered as a footnote, since the Hendrix estate has recompiled, to Hendrix's specifications, First Rays of the New Rising Sun. This (originally) double-album set contains not only the entire Cry of Love LP, but the best studio tracks from Rainbow Bridge, War Heroes, and Crash Landing, presented in.

In the '70s, there was no shortage of posthumous Jimi Hendrix releases. Reprise and other labels knew that Hendrix's fans were an incredibly loyal and devoted bunch, and they knew that serious collectors would snag any Hendrix LP they could get their hands on. One of those posthumous releases was Crash Landing, which Reprise assembled in The LP's best-known tracks include "Message to Love.

May 02,  · The album shows the genius of Hendrix's arrangement and remains an audio recording / mastering masterpiece. It absolutely sings non vinyl the use of stereo drums, the eq and placement of individual instruments, the deep bass, careful vocal overdubs but its the rich mastering, signal to noise ratio and pressing that make this a must have incredible and a favourite I have rediscovered /5(K).

'The Cry of Love' was soon issued after Jimi's demise. Eddie Kramer, Jimi's trusted engineer, and Mitch Mitchell, Jimi's drummer, curated the material and assembled a single disc of strong, representative music Hendrix had been currently perfecting. IMO, they constructed a Jimi Hendrix ALBUM that stands in the Hendrix Canon/5().
